Exciting Updates from Second Act

Dear Second Act Community,

Today, I’m writing with exciting updates as Second Act enters its sixth (!!!) year.

This fall, Second Act is entering a new era of leadership. As of September, I have stepped into the role of Board Chair, with Angie Sheehan, stepping into the role of Executive Director. I could not be more excited for Angie to take the helm. Since joining the team in 2022, Angie has been an exceptional colleague, trusted leader, and passionate advocate for our mission. Her thoughtfulness, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to our community make her an incredible person to lead Second Act into this next chapter. I can’t wait to see where her leadership takes the organization.

We’re also excited to welcome additional leadership transitions. Veronica Greydak, previously our Director of Mentorship, has stepped into the role of Board Treasurer, and David Barocio has assumed the role of Vice Chair of the Board. This leadership team brings a tremendous depth of experience, dedication, and care for Second Act.

Today, our community includes 10 dedicated team volunteers, a growing Board of Directors, more than 140 mentors, and more than 100 mentees. Having joined as the third team member of the organization back in 2022, it’s been incredible to see the expansion and impact of Second Act over the years.

Thank you for your trust, your encouragement, and your belief in Second Act. This community is the reason we’ve been able to grow, connect, and create meaningful opportunities for so many people. It has been an absolute honor to serve as your Executive Director, and while I’m excited to step into this new role, I’m even more excited to continue building alongside all of you.
