Hi, I’m Claire and I’m former dancer turned interior designer. Ballet defined the formative years of my life from starting at age 3 to performing with companies such as Pacific Northwest Ballet and Miami City Ballet. After a string of apprenticeships and second companies, I struggled to see where I really fit in the ballet world and if it was what I truly still wanted to pursue. I view myself as an artist and creative first, so I made the difficult decision to finish out my ballet career and explore new creative possibilities.
It was hard to pivot at first, but eventually I found my passion for interior design and pursued higher education. After graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in Interior Design, I’m now a full-time designer at Kempt Studio. I’m thankful that ballet has helped open so many doors and instilled a work ethic in me that has landed me in an exciting career. I absolutely love what I do and am excited to help other creative people find a path to a rewarding Second Act.
