I transitioned out of ballet while in college, but have made it a priority to activate my dance experiences in unorthodox ways that fit my ever-changing interests. This has meant pursuing a PhD in art history focused on how dance and painting interacted in the premodern world, a career choice which brings me new discoveries and challenges every day. I believe that no matter what direction you're headed, there is always a way to keep dance close at hand beyond just the studio.
