Scout Inghilterra
Kansas City Ballet
Richmond Ballet
Associate, Capco
BA Columbia University
Scout grew up in the Manhattan Greater Area training at Manhattan Youth Ballet on scholarship. She attended Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University straight out of high school studying under Michael Vernon and Violette Verdy. After two years of college, Scout signed her first professional contract with Kansas City Ballet and later danced with Richmond Ballet.
Wanting to reconnect with academics and complete her bachelor’s degree, Scout attended Columbia University where she majored in East Asian Studies focusing on Chinese history. During her studies, she became very interested in Chinese literature and decided to simultaneously pursue her master’s in pre-modern Chinese literature. To keep her passion of dance alive, she participated every semester in the Columbia Ballet Collaborative and enjoyed performing with her fellow dancers.
Scout was until recently at a behavioral healthcare start up on the business development team. In 2023, she joined Capco as an Associate. Later in her career, Scout wants to return to her US-China relations interest and use her knowledge of both countries to work across borders.
She is very excited to be a mentor at Second Act because she wished when she was transitioning out of dancing professionally there was a community of fellow dancers who, not only could relate to what she was going through, but could offer personal advice about classes, majors, internships, or careers. Scout looks forward to passing on her knowledge and being a friendly face to dancers who are going through a similar experience she did.
