Sabrina Karlin

After growing up and training in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sabrina moved across the country to attend NYU Tisch School of the Arts, earning a BFA in dance and BA in journalism while interning in New York City Ballet's media department. Following graduation, she originated roles off-Broadway, guested with contemporary ballet company Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance, performed as a featured dancer in the 75th anniversary of Oklahoma! (Sundance Resort), toured the country with Angelina Ballerina: The Musical, and appeared on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Inventing Anna. After the pandemic forced her to shift gears, she launched her own freelance business, Scribble & Type, editing college admissions essays and other written work. Realizing she enjoyed helping brands tell their stories, she eventually took a full-time position at Zola, the wedding planning platform, writing everything from TV commercials to website landing pages. She continued to audition during this time, and was even signed with a talent agency. Today, she works on the Creative team at The New York Times — you might encounter her words as you play Wordle or listen to one of their many podcasts. After signing off, Sabrina can be found in class at Steps on Broadway and volunteering with the Blue Hill Troupe, through which she's starred as one of Reno's Angels in Anything Goes and choreographed a production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. As one of her Tisch teachers once said, "Don't be afraid to let your story shift." With this in mind, she continues to explore new ways to perform and live a creative life on her own terms.
