My name is Peyton and I am a graduating senior at Northeastern University in Boston studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Accounting. I am a company dancer with the Harvard Ballet Company with Harvard University. This summer, I will be beginning my professional career as an Investment Banking Analyst in NYC.
Before college, I trained in ballet at the pre-professional level with the Lynch School of Ballet on Long Island. I attended summer intensives with the American Ballet Theatre and the Orlando Ballet as well as performed in numerous full-length classical ballets with Lynch. I was also named the 2021-2022 Long Island Scholar Artist in Dance. Ballet was my whole world but I knew I always wanted to pursue higher education which ultimately led me to Northeastern.
At college, I auditioned for and was accepted into the Harvard Ballet Company (HBC) where I was able to keep dance alive at a competitive level while being a full time student. This transition was perfect for me because I didn't have to give up on ballet when going to college. With the company, I received the opportunity to be choregraphed on by Lauren Lovette, participate in a dance convention called Ivy Ballet Exchange, perform at Harvard's Arts First Festival as well as 2 biannual productions by HBC every year, and make so many friendships. It was easily the best part of my college experience!
Academically, I found an interest in the business world and will be pursuing a career as a technology investment banker after graduation. I found a lot of similarities between finance and ballet because both are so technically precise but there is an artistic nature to them as well. That duality has been present my whole life and finding that in my transition out of being a colligate dancer kept ballet present in my academic life!
I am excited to be a mentor with the Second Act! Being connected to individuals who all share the same passion in many different areas of life is what excites me most about being a part of the network!
