Patrick Li (he/him) is a dance artist who integrates movement with other disciplines. Born in Boston and raised in Beijing, he has trained in ballet, Peking opera, traditional Chinese dance, and contemporary dance forms. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Dance and went on to dance professionally and develop his voice as an emerging choreographer during his gap years.
Patrick has had the honor of performing and creating work with companies such as Monica Bill Barnes & Company, Malashock Dance, San Diego Dance Theater, LITVAKdance, La Jolla Playhouse, and DISCO RIOT. His artistic background is deeply informed by his cross-cultural upbringing, and he is passionate about uniting people from diverse backgrounds through the universal language of movement.
Patrick is now a medical student at University of Massachusetts T.H. Chan School of Medicine. He hopes to bring his understanding of dancers’ bodies into patient care, research, and injury prevention. Patrick is excited to support dancers navigating academic pathways and to share his experience transitioning from dance to medicine.
