After 11 years with San Francisco Ballet I knew it was time for the next chapter. I was afraid my lack of college education would hold me back, and while it did in some ways I learned how to present my story in a way that most people were so excited about my ballet career, with skills and strengths from that, they didn’t care about higher education.

I started teaching myself how to code over the pandemic, it was easily accessible and I was curious. I loved it and got a scholarship to a software engineering bootcamp for several months before finding a job at Raya as a software engineer. I loved my time there, but started looking into roles that could incorporate more of my skills from years as a Sr corp dancer. I started looking for chief of staff/executive assistant roles and found an opportunity at Y Combinator where I could incorporate some of my technical skills into the role. I feel very lucky to have found roles where I feel truly appreciated and valued, and I hope to help others reach that point as well!
