Lara Tong

Lara Tong began her dance training at age nine and moved to New York at fourteen to attend the School of American Ballet. She was invited to join New York City Ballet as an apprentice and went on to dance in the corps de ballet for seven years.

After retiring from ballet, Lara navigated the challenge of building a second career. She completed her degree at Columbia University, graduating magna cum laude in Biological Sciences, and later worked as a Asset & Wealth Management Analyst at J.P. Morgan. She then pursued her medical degree at NYITCOM and matched into a Family Medicine residency at Northwell Plainview Hospital.

Having experienced the identity shift and uncertainty that can accompany leaving a dance career, Lara is passionate about supporting dancers as they explore new paths.
