Emily Parker is originally from Boston, MA. She attended Indiana University from 2011 - 2014 and graduated with a BS in Music (Ballet) and an Outside Field (Biology) with High Distinction. After graduation, she began her professional ballet career with Oregon Ballet Theatre, where she danced for six seasons. Some of her favorite performances with OBT were William Forsythe’s In the Middle Somewhat Elevated, Nacho Duato’s Jardí Tancat, August Bournonville’s Napoli, Christopher Stowell’s The Sleeping Beauty, Nicolo Fonte’s Beautiful Decay, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, and Jiří Kylián’s Falling Angles. Emily also had the opportunity to perform principal roles as a guest artist with both Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and American Contemporary Ballet. Since retiring from ballet in 2020, she has been working full-time in clinical research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital while completing the Harvard Extension School's Post-baccalaureate Premedical Program. Emily will matriculate at the Yale School of Medicine in August 2024.
