Claire Ashcraft
Interior Designer, Kempt Studio
B.F.A Kendall College of Art and Design
Claire is a former dancer turned interior designer. Ballet defined the formative years of her life--from starting at age 3 to performing with companies such as Pacific Northwest Ballet and Miami City Ballet. After a string of apprenticeships and second companies, she struggled to see where she fit in the ballet world and if it was what she truly still wanted to pursue. She views herself as an artist and creative first, and made the difficult decision to finish out her ballet career to explore new creative possibilities.
It was hard to pivot at first, but eventually she found her passion for interior design and pursued higher education. Since graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in Interior Design, Claire works full time as a designer at Kempt Studio. She's thankful that ballet has helped open so many doors and instilled a work ethic that has landed her in an exciting career. She absolutely loves what she does and is excited to help other creative people find a path to a rewarding Second Act.
