Alanna Swovelin

Company Manager, Blue Man Group World Tour

Mary's College of California

Alanna is a retired professional dancer and has danced for artists and companies such as Tokyo Disneyland, LA Opera, Michael Bublé, MGM Macau China, The Magic Castle, Holland America Line, and the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

After sustaining an injury while performing in Japan, Alanna made the decision to retire from the stage. Over time, she found a way to communicate and substantiate the transferable skills gained from the performing world to pivot into arts administration.

Alanna is currently the Company Manager of Blue Man Group World Tour where she is in charge of spearheading and producing global tours to 13 countries while managing a $2M annual budget. Over the past two years alone, she has successfully managed logistics and operations for tours and events in 76 cities. Alanna has additionally served as Company Manager for Blue Man Group North American Tour, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and Los Angeles Opera.

Alanna is an Advisory Board Member for the Liberal Education for Arts Professionals program at Saint Mary's College of California, of which she graduated herself summa cum laude. She also volunteers at Pivot for Dancers and The Actors Fund to hold informational interviews and mentorship sessions for dancers that are exploring opportunities off the stage.

Change is hard, and having been there herself, Alanna is committed to meaningfully connecting her business and artistic experiences to offer support to former and current professional dancers through their own career transition journeys.
