Heather Duncan is originally from Albany, New York where she received her initial ballet training from the Saratoga Ballet Academy. At the age of 14, Heather left home to attend pre-professional ballet programs at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boston Ballet School, and Miami City Ballet School.
Upon graduating from high school, Heather began her professional ballet career as an apprentice with the Carolina Ballet. The following season, Heather was promoted to the corps de ballet and danced with the Carolina Ballet for five more seasons. While dancing professionally, Heather had the pleasure of performing in notable works by Adriana Pierce, Amy Hall Garner, Giana Reisen, George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Robert Weiss, and Zalman Raffael.
In addition to her dancing career, she graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a BS in biology and concentration in human biology. Heather also became a certified EMT while dancing with the Carolina Ballet and has been a ballet instructor at various studios for the past five years. She currently works as a ballet instructor, clinic volunteer, and EMT as she prepares to attend physician assistant school.
